lots of goodies

it's so nice when the postie comes and brings you parcels that surprise you, thats just what happened today, he thought it was my birthday LOL

I got the Cats Whiskers ~ Peacock Stitching Chair (DH bought me that for our wedding anniversary and valentines) and my monthly club of Finca Perle from Jaynes Attic, in this parcel was a freebie design from Carol Tinson at Heirloom Embroideries, it's called Darling Buds and is very pretty

I won a competiton that Brenda at TSBB held at Christmas for one of her TOPS, she mailed it out at the beginning of January but it never arrived, she kindly made me another one to replace it and i was releived that it arrived today, thank you Brenda it is wonderful and i will treasure it

Joann has sent the tuck for the spring exchange at TSBB so i need to find a nice chart to stitch for that and get that in the mail to my exchange partner

and a lovely surprise from a special friend for my wedding anniversary (that was 19th Feb) she sent me the Dolly Mamas kit 'go braless, it pulls the wrinkles out of your face' and a cute L*K chart, thank you Kathy that was a really lovely surprise and DH loves the Dolly Mama's he nearly choked on his breakfast !!!!

Stitching club tonight, i'll be taking the JN 12 Days with me, have almost finished Day 6 and then it will go away for a while so i can concentrate on Month 2 of the SALs and of course begin the little hardanger SAL @ JABB

What kind of rocker are you???

You Are a Glam Rocker!

You put the "show" in rock show with your larger than life self.
No doubt, you are all about making good music...
But what really gets you going is having an over the top show.
Glitter, costumes, and wild hair are your thing - with some rock thrown in!

well i was a young girl in the 70's so i half expected this one, i'm a big T Rex and Marc Bolan fan

i'm normal !!!!

according to this quiz i found on another blog i am LOL

You Are a Fortune Cookie

You're a rather normal person, except that you have extraordinary luck in life.
People want to be around you (even when they're a little sick of you), in hopes of being lucky too!

becoming an art critic

I went to the local museum yesterday, they are showing the Rolf Harris portrait of the Queen which he painted to celebrate her 80th Birthday. It's touring the country for everyone to see. What did i think to it? it was lovely, and great to see his work only 2 feeet away and not behind a glass screen. I sat for quite a while studying it (looking for any mistakes really LOL) and discussed it with others who were looking, one lady thought the teeth were a bit strange, I thought they were fine but her middle finger looked a bit crooked and a bit too long (sorry Rolf!) If it comes to a museum near you it's well worth a visit to see it
As you can see i've continued with the next day on the JN 12 Days. I decided as i'm up to date with my goals for February, and March is looming next week, the fun will begin again with the 2nd part of the Loopylou Hollyberry SAL, the 2nd part of the Mystery Huswif SAL, hardanger SAL beginning at JABB and the easter tuck exchange at TSBB, it's going to be a busy month .... who am i trying to kid ... i love this design and can't resist carrying on with it, Leo can wait a while !! Helen if you click on the link in stitching plans it will take you to the JN site to see the chart

getting ahead of my stitching plans

only 4 ladies at the stitchy club last night, everyone else was away sick, i did miss catching up with them and hearing about their week, but as we did less chatting and a lot more stitching, i got Day 3 finished on the JN, that was supposed to be March's goal !! It really is a lovely chart to stitch, if you have been thinking about getting it i would highly recommend it, the colours are stunning and look no where near as bright in the picture as they really are.

I've been to my yoga class again this afternoon, it was closed last week for the half term break, didn't realise how much i'd missed it, but now i'm all 'chilled out and de-stressed' and ready to face what the world throws at me .... wonder how long that'll last LOL

Thanks to everyone who reads my blog and leaves comments, i do appreciate it and like to read your opinions. Take care and Happy Stitching

SAL and Leo

this afternoon i put the final stitch into month 1 of the mystery SAL at Heirloom Embroideries, this was after stitching the flowers in verdigris(green) instead of hazelnut(brown)as the instructions said ... i put this down to excitement and adreneline and not stupidity !!! The Vikki Clayton silks in this are gorgeous to use, although i did think it was a bit dull and drab when i got the fabric/threads but as it's stitched up it's looking nice, just goes to show i have no eye for whats right and whats not!! Not long to wait till March and month 2, bet it will be the next letters of the alphabet LOL

i'm really pleased with the progress on Leo, just looked at the last pic i posted here and i've done loads since then, you don't realise as it seems to grow so slowly each time you stitch on it

typical of Simon Cowell and his bad mouth, he said NO so my nephew and his friends have been eliminated from the next round (where's Sharon Osborne when you need her, she'd have loved the young men in their outfits!!!) we now have to wait and see if their auditions will be on TV when they edit the programme

tonight i'm going to work on the JN 12 Days to give the eyes a rest from the 1x1 and there's a programme i want to see on TV, i can stitch this and watch at the same time, multi tasking LOL and then of course it's the stitching club tomorrow so it will grow even more then

thank you Helen for the lovely Kaalund Silk you sent to me, such a lovely surprise, looking forward to trying this as it feels so soft

superstar in the family !

thats what my nephew thinks he's is since he went for the next round of Britains Best Talent show, it was a live show judged by Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan (Editor of UK daily newspaper)and David Hasselhoff, he also met Ant and Dec. He's decided that if the showbiz world calls he'll give up school and trip the light fantastic ... yeah like his mum and dad will let him do that ... fingers crossed they get through to the next round though, although i hope his head doesn't get any bigger LOL

Stitching wise, i've made some good progress on LEO this week, i'll take a pic when i can find the camera, how come noone knows where it is when i need it !!! and i've also started the Heirloom Embroideries Huswif Mystery SAL that i am doing with Lisa (although i've made an error and need to frog a bit)

have a great weekend and Happy Stitching

Happy Valentines Day

wishing you all a Happy Valentines Day, my DH has bought me a patio/bush rose for the garden, it's a nice pink flower called 'The Fairy' he said this way I would have roses all summer .... what a sweetie he is

there are those that keep asking (and they do it so nicely!!) for an update of HAED LEO, so....... here it is, there's not much progress though

tonight it's the stitching club, i've been trying to decide what to take with me to stitch?? I think it might have to be the JN 12 Days, i'm thinking of making it my Wednesday night project and just stitch on it then, that way i'll still get one day done per month as i intended this year, and i can stitch and chat whilst doing it as it's not a complicated chart to follow LOL

snowman ornament

there is a snowman ornament SAL at TS BB right now, it's open for the whole of February and you can choose any snowman you want, i chose the snowman keeper freebie from Drawn Thread but stitched it over 2 on 28ct jobelan 'nordic blue' using DMC and silver kreinik for the snowflakes

tonight i'm going to continue with LEO, i've stitched one column of 50 stitches deep and 10 wide so far so not much progress to show you, i'll see how it goes this week and maybe post a pic at the weekend

Ish ... thanks for your comments, i've changed the settings for you LOL

my 1st pinkeep

this afternoon i finished off the LHN/CCN bee pinkeep from the Gift of Stitching online mag, i've been stitching this as an on-line SAL at one of the MB's i visit, it really was a lovely project to stitch, i hope the other ladies have enjoyed it as much as i have. I was surprised how easy it was to make up, although my invisible stitches (when you stitch the back to the front) are a bit more visible than invisible LOL

Hope you all had a lovely weekend

it's snowing

woke up to snow flurries this morning, everywhere was white over and it looked so pretty, Mr Moe was enjoying playing in it and hoping that someone was going to build him a 'snowmouse' LOL, poor DD had to go to college, but lucky me was able to stay warm and cosy and sit and watch it out of my conservatory window, it's been snowing on and off all day. Can you see my weathervane cat and mouse that DH made me a few Christmas's back against the tree ??

and here's what i stitched for my partner Jayne

thanks to all of you who read my blog and leave comments, it's nice to know what you think of my stitching and i don't mind if you tell the truth and say you don't like something or would have done it differently, criticism accepted LOL

Sunday, 4 February 2007

it's been a quiet day here today, so i decided to sit this afternoon and stitch month 1 of the Loopylou SAL 'Hollyberry', it runs from February till November so it's back into the workbox with this one till March

next week in the post i should receive Part 1(chart and kit)of the Huswif Mystery from Heirloom Embroideries, it's going to be exciting because there have been no clues about the design or the colours of fabric and thread. I've decided i'm going to continue with LEO till that arrives as it's growing nicely

Hope you all had a good weekend

our new baby

look who's come to live at our house, his names Midge and he's about 5 months old, he's been sneaking in through the door for the past 2-3 weeks and settling down on the sofa and sleeping soundly, he belongs to a family in the next street, today i learned that they're moving house and they are not keen on him ??? he's such a sweetheart and is a lovley lap cat, so he's now officially ours. Dh has been and bought him a new collar this afternoon and he's had a "welcome to our house" meal of some nice fish

continued stitching on JN last night and finished off Day 2 this afternoon, back into the workbox it goes till March and Day 3 LOL

pinch and a punch ...

1st day of the month .....

February has arrived and today's the start of the Looplou SAL, thats going to be exciting! that'll be my 3rd WIP (yes Paula i said 3 !!!)

Last night was the stitchy club and even though we were still in January i made a start on the JN 2nd Day of Christmas, daren't risk taking LEO with me as we do too much talking and not enough concentrating and i usually have to frog what i've done when i get home LOL

LEO's growing slowly and here's what it looks like so far ...(DH asked if i was stitching a chessboard ... silly man)

The valentine exchange went in the post yesterday, so fingers crossed Royal Mail will behave and my partner will receive it quickly, i hope she likes it
