Happy Easter

Easter holidays started lovely here for us.  DD and our granddaughter took us to see the new Peter Rabbit movie on Good Friday.  It was their treat and afterwards they gave us a lovely box of Lindt mini bunnies as I reminder of our outing.

We enjoyed the movie, but I have to say, I prefer the original Peter Rabbit, he's just so cute and this Peter was a bit of a naughty rabbit in more ways than one!

Today, Easter Sunday, April 1st (my late dads birthday) and it means opening day for the Needlecraft Haven Easter exchange.

I sent to Justine, here's what was in my parcel :-

I found the little tuck hanger in my stash when looking for something and thought Justine might like to stitch something to go into it for next Easter.  The chocolate treat was doubled so she was able to share with her two boys.

The stitching design I chose came from this The Prairie Schooler booklet

Here's a close up of my finish

The parcel I received came from Christine.  Such a different finish and I had only commented on her blog yesterday that I loved a similar one she had made for the Easter blog hop over at Jo's.

Here's close up of the lovely sheep

Thank you Christine, I love my Easter parcel x

Time also for my 'What did i do last month?' post as we have entered another month, the fourth of the year.

I had 5 finishes - 3 different bunny ones, the westies bookmark and a lovely knitted scarf.

I've got  2 stitching WIP's to carry forward -  1. Needlecraft Haven monthly challenge from March, stitching is completed I just need to make it up and 2. Blue Ribbon designs 'A Friend Indeed and there is a pair of socks on the knitting needles.

March's re-visited children's books was Justine's choice and she went for Heidi.  I read this such a long time ago, it was lovely to re-read it again.  I also read three other titles in March.

Wishing you all a very Happy Easter, I hope you are spending time with those you love.

Love and blessings to you all

Julie x

  4. I've always liked that particular PS design, it just really appeals to me. Oh Julie, you've taken me back to my childhood. I was given a hardback copy of Heidi and read it so many times I lost count - it was one of my absolute favourites. Hope your Easter weekend has been a bit warmer than ours - we've barely been above freezing!!

  8. What a lovely start to Easter, a trip to the cinema to see Peter Rabbit. What lovely gifts for the Easter Exchange, I always enjoy seeing what everyone swaps, there's some very talented crafters among the group. I remember reading Heidi when I was young and I loved the film too.

  14. Oh Miss Julie a treat indeed to see Peter with your family. I am not sure myself as like you I do like the original books . My family have been enthralled by Paddington but again I am not sure if it will live up to the original books. Loved Heidi too ,perhaps I should revisit it as it is simply ages since I was young .The exchanges were lovely treats indeed. I really must keep my eyes open for the next exchange , I seem to miss them somehow and I loved doing them in the past. You have been busy in March and I am sure you will continue to be in April you always have something on the go. Love to both xx

  20. What a lovely exchange, Julie! I so love that PS bunny you made for Justine. I stitched him years ago, but never finished him--really need to get to him soon, poor thing.

And your month of March was very successful, both in your needlework and in your reading. I can't say that I've ever read Heidi, but I remember watching the movie every time it came on television.

Hope things are warming up for you--we awoke to two inches of snow yesterday... April 2nd--ridiculous! I am really ready to move south :)

  21. You had a very pretty month of finishes! The teeny bunnies are so cute. Your exchanges always look so amazing. I've loved seeing Heidi mentioned on several blogs; I have always enjoyed that book though I did not know there were sequels!

  23. I hope you had a wonderful Easter holiday. You and Christine created two wonderful eggs for the exchange. Farm Fresh is one of my favourite Prairie Schooler books and I have stitched these sweet designs several times.

  25. Terrific Easter exchange gifts, Julie. I've still to finish Heidi. My reading bug seems to have disappeared for a while. That didn't stop me making a book order this weekend which included 'Faking Friends'.

  26. oh, such pretty exchange pieces and yummy chocolate, too!

  27. My friend took her son to see Peter Rabbit, he's very empathic and was horrified by it! This boy loves Tom and Jerry but can't stand "real people" violence. She thought it would be like the books too or maybe the TV series.

I do love the Easter Lollipop finish Christine made for you, the exchanges are always so much fun. Especially when there is chocolate involved!
