It's been a strange spring this year
People have spent more time in their own gardens and had experiences and learnt about things they don't normally have time to see and watch grow. Nature has inspired many.
Adults and children alike have taken up growing things for the first time and are learning to grow foods to feed their families. That really excites me.
I hope you too have enjoyed this years strange Spring and wish you a lovely summer to come.
Today we enter into Summer. The solstice sunset last night and todays sunrise was streamed live by English Heritage from Stonehenge. So many all over the world were able to share live. I watched them both.
Today here in the UK it is also Fathers Day.
Yet another celebration during this pandemic that will be so different. My thoughts are with those who will be having their first Fathers Day, who have had babies during this current time and with those who have angel dads.
To all Fathers, have a lovely day, embrace the love shared by your family.

Lovely post, I hope everyone uses this time to stop, look around you and think. It's very rare we have so much free time with sunny days. We have enjoyed this spring in the most strange of ways, neither of us work, so there should not have been much difference, but not popping out has been hard.

Lovely photos Julie. It has been a very strange Spring indeed, very different for all of us, I've enjoyed watching the birds in the garden and enjoying sitting out there more than I would have done if it hadn't been for lockdown. I suppose being forced to stay at home has made more of us slow down and take notice of things

This has been a spring that many will not forget, it has also brought many people closer and doing things we did when I was young, so many do not know about gardening, this is wonderful to see many young in the garden, even the five year old across the road has planted seeds.

There's so much to see and enjoy in your post. It's great that the garden and outdoors generally has played such a positive part in our strange Spring, incredible that the weather as been so sunny too.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are delightful, I've loved everyone of them, even the snail which are quite wonderful even though they spoil the garden. Yes, I can see both submarine and shark shapes in those clouds. I've been thinking about my own father who died when I was five and my step father who gave me a stable childhood too today. Very pretty snail, I haven’t seen many here this year, but I’m not really the gardener! Oh, and maybe we have got a hedgehog, that could be why we don’t see snails!

Lovely post! I am not a gardener but the but got me this year and I turned over some grass and put in a small garden. Hopefully it grows and will be a good reminder of things positive that have come from Covid.

I've enjoyed your post today (and took a look through all I missed while caring for my mom over the past three weeks!). I missed my yard so much when at mom's apartment--amazing how things had grown and bloomed in the time I was gone.

Beautiful photos Julie and lovely sentiments about new Dads, I hardly knew mine as he remarried when my mother died, but I did see him when he was ill just before he died, such a sad loss for us both as he was so pleased to see me and so proud that I was a Deputy Head Teacher. And to me I felt sad for all the years that had passed when we never saw each other as he was the same really lovely man I knew when I was younger.
